Curry Sexton and Jake Waters are ready to give back to the state that gave them so much during their collegiate careers. This week, Sexton and Waters, one of K-State’s most impactful and productive QB/WR combos, revealed the dates of the summer football camps they will be doing as part of Kansas Gridiron Greats, which targets players from 1st to 12th grade and launched its website (www.KansasGridironGreats.com). Sexton and Waters will be coming to Hoisington for a camp on June 27th. The camp is a fundamentals camp welcome to football players of all positions.

“I’m excited to work with the youth of our state this summer,” said Sexton, an Abilene, KS native. He added, “I want to help these kids to better themselves both on and off the field.” Waters said, “To give back to communities that have been so supportive of me the last two years is very important to me.”  Waters is currently training for his NFL career, after recently signing a contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Sexton, who signed a contract with the Minnesota Vikings and was one of a small group selected by the NCAA to attend the NCAA Future Football Coaches Academy, is now back home in Kansas pursuing opportunities to get into coaching.

“The Hoisington Rec is pleased to be able to bring Jake Waters and Curry Sexton to the Hoisington community. It will be a great opportunity for kids to learn from Jake and Curry on how to succeed both on and off the field in life!” said Granson Salmans, Hoisington Rec Director.

About Kansas Gridiron Greats Camp

The purpose of the Kansas Gridiron Greats Youth Football Camps is to help children going into 1rd grade stretching to 12th grade to develop the fundamental skills of being a great football player, but their objective is much greater. Kansas Gridiron Greats exists to promote mental skills revolving around attitude, work ethic and character.  Campers will experience fundamentals training ranging from footwork, to passing/receiving basics, defensive techniques as well as in-game situations.  Campers will also learn what made Curry & Jake successful – their work ethic and character – and how those priorities are the center of success.
