Great Bend features Bryce Moore and Paige Wagner, the reigning Western Athletic Conference Bowlers of the Year.
Moore (677) fired games of 234/217/226 to earn medalist honors Tuesday and Wagner (600) shot games of 216/217/167 to lead the girls division Tuesday at Walnut Bowl.
But Garden City’s reigning Western Athletic Conference champions beat Great Bend’s boys 8-3. The Buffalo boys swept four of the top spots.
Garden City won series games 847-738 and 907-732 while the Panthers won 790-717 in the third game. The Buffaloes won Baker games 200-179 and 224-199. Great Bend won the opening game 225-183. Runner-up Kaden Whitehurst (654) and third-place Caleb Carr (648) led the Buffaloes.
Other Panthers competing were sixth-place Ashton Ensley, 537 (175-159-203); eighth-place Jalen Daniels, 527 (179-174-174); ninth-place Corbin Stanley, 494 (147-160-187); 10th-place Caleb Murphy, 477 (150-168-159); and 12th-place Bradley Heine, 427 (130-173-134).
Garden City's girls beat Great Bend 7-4. Garden City's girls earned four of the top spots. Garden City won series games 759-753 and 736-694. Great Bend won the opening game 715-683. The Buffaloes won Baker games 155-145 and 267-167. Great Bend won the third Baker game 145-143. Garden City's Holly Bridges was runner-up (583) and Lilly-Ann Leeper (519) placed fourth.
