With the added incentive of the option to pie the middle school coach of their choice, the Great Bend Middle School volleyball teams, stepped up their game in a friendly 8th grade vs 7th grade food drive contest.
The 8th-grade team edged the 7th graders bringing 403 items to the 7th grades 379 and chose 7th grade Head Coach Jessica Nairn to receive the whipped cream facial.
When all was said and done, the coaches were extremely proud, and all four coaches ended up with pie on their face.
“Anytime we ask our girls to do anything, they do it in a big way,” said Great Bend coach Michelle Barber. “We’re constantly thanking the parent for their support of the teams. Together, everyone made the food drive a huge success.”
