WICHITA – Great Bend Bombers pitcher Peyton Oelger threw six shutout innings to spark a 9-1 victory over Tulsa Baseball in Wednesday’s Wichita State Wood Bat State Baseball Championship. The Bombers (6-4-2) lost their first game 19-7 to Wichita Beaty.

BOMBERS 9, TULSA BASEBALL 1 – Oelger was brilliant with a 72-pitch, 3-strikeout outing. 

Owen Kaiser led the Bombers with a single and double and three runs batted home. Hunter Herrman singled and drove home two runs. Koehn Ribordy drove home a run. Carson Umphres scored twice and singled twice. 

WICHITA BEATY 19, BOMBERS 7 – The Bombers struggled on the mound with 14 walks, five hit-batters and a trio of errors. Wichita Beaty's Gunnar Lewis drove home four runs. Carter Clupay and Karsten Wall each drove in two runs.

Umphrey tripled and singled and drove home three runs. Lane French tripled, drove home three runs and scored two runs. Slade Mohr scored two runs and singled twice.
