Great Bend Braves win first game

SALINA – Jaxon Wondra's sacrifice fly scored Gavin Gilkison as the Great Bend Braves edged the Salina Drive 5-4 in Tuesday's baseball game. Gilkison walked and advanced to third base on an Eli Contreras bunt. The Braves (1-7) trailed 4-1 to the Salina Hawks when Tuesday's second game was suspended by weather.

BRAVES 5, SALINA DRIVE 4 (G1) – Braves reliever Slade Mohr (1-0) pitched four shutout innings to earn the victory. 

Wondra scored on a first-inning wild pitch. Salina's Cade Strathman doubled home Grayton Gross and Rush LeDuec scored on a first-inning error. Strathman scored on Cowen Huggard's single.

Carson Poe's third-inning double scored Contreras and Wondra for a 3-3 tie. Salina's LeDuec scored on a Gross third-inning double. Wondra scored on Kale Kern's fifth-inning double for a 4-4 tie.

SALINA HAWKS 4, BRAVES 1 (G2, suspended) – Great Bend's Kern doubled and scored on a first-inning wild pitch.

Salina's Aiden Speilman scored on a groundout. Jack Gordon, James MacKinney and Camden Augustine all scored on wild pitches.
