On Thursday, the Great Bend Panthers hosted a triangular with Liberal and Holcomb. In girls action the Lady Panthers dominated the day by winning 10 of the 11 WAC points possible. Senior Addie Soukup was the high bowler for the Lady Panthers as she rolled a top series of 562. Sophomore McKenzy Black finished in 3rd place as she rolled a series of 504. In junior varsity action the Lady Panthers made it a clean sweep as they swept the medal count. Junior Alex Snyder earned 1st place honors by rolling a 522 series. Junior Hanna Pfeifer claimed the silver medal by rolling a 508 series. Freshman Jordan Vsetecka claimed the bronze medal by rolling a 460 series. The Lady Panthers JV squad earned ten of the 11 WAC points.
In boys action the Panthers dominated the lanes on senior day. Senior Jeff Mietler the last remaining member from the 2013 State Championship team dominated the day by rolling games of 235, 235, and 236 for a 706 series. Senior Matt Black captured the silver medal for the Panthers as he rolled a series of 628. The Panthers earned ten of the possible 11 WAC points.
In junior varsity action the Panther boys over powered the Redskins boys from Liberal by earning all 11 WAC points. Sophomore Drew Reed earned 2nd place honors by rolling a 577 series and it included a seven strikes in a row game of 236. Junior Tylar Wagner finished in 3rd place with a solid 550 series. The boys swept the WAC point total as they earned all 11 points.
Next action for the Great Bend bowlers was Saturday at the Andover tournament, next Tuesday in Dodge City for the Junior Varsity WAC Tournament and finally on Thursday in Garden City for the Varsity WAC Tournament.
