Great Bend Middle School girls place first

The Great Bend Middle School eighth-grade girls placed first Thursday at Lake Barton. Panther runners are Clarissa Bashor (173), Brooklyn Ramsey (192), Addy Nicholson (190), medalist Eliana Jackson (184), Evelyn Luna (187), Melanie Gonzalez (183), Clara Vazquez Bravo (195) and runner-up Morgan Beckwith (174).

LAKE BARTON — The Great Bend Middle School seventh and eighth-grade girls placed first in Thursday’s cross country meet at Lake Barton. 

“The athletes have been working hard all summer preparing for the season. It was exciting to see that hard work pay off,” said Great Bend coach Carley Wells.

Great Bend eighth-grader Eliana Jackson earned medalist honors (6:36.3). Placing runner-up in their divisions were eighth-grader Morgan Beckwith (6:39.1); seventh-grader Darcy Feist (6:29.2) and seventh-grader Kyler Holinde (6:04.1). 

The Great Bend Middle School seventh grade boys finished runner-up. The eighth-grade boys finished fourth.
