Great Bend Panther runners earn titles

The Great Bend Panther boys earned the first-place trophy at Thursday's Buhler Invitational cross country meet.

BUHLER – Great Bend’s Mayra Ramirez (20:54.7) captured the girls race and the Panther boys placed first in Thursday’s Buhler Invitational cross country meet.

Third-place Sage Cauley (17:53.2), fourth-place Collin Hammond (17:54.2) and ninth-place Ryan Nicholson (18:27.1) led the Panthers (42 points) to a 19-point victory over Goddard Eisenhower (61). Evan Hammond (18:33.6) placed 12th and Josh Tomlin (18:44.1) finished 14th to also count for the Panthers.

Great Bend’s placed third (113) behind Buhler (54-tiebreaker 20) and Goddard Eisenhower (54-tiebreaker 29).
