DODGE CITY — No. 1 doubles Abbie Moyers-Alexis Folkerts and No. 2 singles Anna Popp placed first as the Great Bend girls captured first place with 27 points at Tuesday’s Dodge City Tennis Invitational. It was the first team title of the season for Great Bend.

Popp (5-0) cruised past Dodge City’s Faith Heath 6-2 in the championship match.

Moyers-Folkerts avenged a loss to Garden City’s Hannah Kipp-Carole Galia with a 6-4 victory over losing a tiebreaker 6-5 (7-1).

No. 2 doubles Madison Huslig-Mya Ward had the reverse fortune, beating Garden City in pool play 6-4, but losing 6-4 to Brooke Ptacek-Ashleigh Chappel in the championship match.

No. 1 singles Remi Ingram placed third with a 6-0 victory over Liberal’s Priscilla Vasquez. Garden City’s Sage Riggs placed first with a 6-3 victory over Garden City’s Carson Linenberger.
