EMPORIA — Great Bend’s tennis struggled for wins at the Emporia Tennis Tournament. All four entries finished with 1-3 records.
Great Bend’s No. 1 singles Matthew Phillips and No. 1 doubles Josh Hoisington-Malachi Williams placed 12th. No. 2 singles Hayden Honomichl placed 13th and No. 2 doubles Jordan Popp-Roger Arias placed 14th. Phillips lost a pair of tiebreakers. Honomichl split a pair of tiebreakers, winning 8-7 (16-14) over Maize South’s Joe French for 13th place.
