Habitat for Humanity of Barton County is hosting their Third Annual Benefit Golf Tournament with hopes for raising at least $8,000. These funds will be acquired through a combination of team registration fees and hole sponsorships donated from local businesses.
Part of the fundraising event will include a $1 million giveaway for anyone who can score a hole-in-one on a particular hole, as well as the opportunity to win a brand new Yamaha golf cart in the putting contest. Both of these promotions are included with team registration fees. There will also be games at each hole for an extra element of fun.
“Our goal in planning our third annual event was to make sure we had more to offer than a lot of the other tournaments taking place this time of year,” says tournament organizer Matt Hiss. “Every player is guaranteed a free breakfast and the satisfaction of helping our next family receive the adequate housing they deserve.”
The four-man scramble will be held at the Club at StoneRidge on Saturday, June 18, beginning with a complimentary breakfast at 7 a.m. Tournament play will begin at 8 a.m.
Registration is just $80 per player or $320 per team through June 1st. After that date, registration goes to up to $100 and $400 respectively. Advanced registration is available, but walk-in teams are also welcome on the day of the tournament.
Habitat for Humanity of Barton County has begun construction on their next build site at 19th & Hubbard in Great Bend, so these funds will immediately be used to help a family in Barton County.
Anyone interested in registering or in making a tax-deductible donation to the nonprofit organization should contact tournament organizer Matt Hiss at 620-792-6333.
