HESSTON — Larned's tough baseball luck continued with its third 1-run loss in a 3-2 setback to the Hesston Swathers Friday.

The second game was postponed by wet weather.

Hesston (7-0 CKL) dropped the Indians to 0-5, 0-3 CKL.

HESSTON 3, LARNED 2 (G1) — Larned pitchers Reece Morgan and Anthony Gonzalez combined for eight strikeouts and yielded two earned runs.

Hesston's Keldon Lange scored a second-inning run when River Bartel struck out, but reached first base.

Larned's Owen Shaver raced home on a double steal with Gonzalez for a 1-1 tie.

Two walks cost Larned when Josiah Roth scored on Tanner McAllister's third-inning single.

Hesston returned the favor when Landis Hagerman scored on Shaver's bases-loaded walk for a 2-2 tie.

Kason Landes scored the game-winning run on a fifth-inning Larned error.

Hesston catcher Wesley Hawes threw out Larned's Morgan for the game's final out on an attempted steal.
