Haven Wildcats sweep Larned
LARNED – Defending Chisholm Trail League softball champion Haven roared past the Larned Indians 22-2 and 19-3 to sweep Friday’s doubleheader. Larned (1-5 CKL) travels to Hillsboro (1-3) Thursday. Hoisington (6-0 CKL) travels to Haven (4-0) Thursday for a CKL showdown.
HAVEN 22, LARNED 2 (G1) – Haven’s BrieAnn Brawner drove home five runs with three doubles. The Wildcats pounded out 20 hits and nine extra-base hits.
Sophia Faidley drilled a grand-slam homer. Sadie Estill drove in four runs. Amie Yoder drove home three runs and Brookelyn Barnett drove in two runs.
Larned’s Madison Reinert doubled home Kiana Meyer and Emma Thompson for the Indians’ runs. Meyer also doubled.
HAVEN 19, LARNED 3 (G2) – Larned enjoyed a terrific highlight for coach Jordan Haney when Kiana Meyer and Clara Shaver drilled home runs in a 19-3 loss. M. Wood scored on Kiana Meyer’s single.
Haven’s Brawner drove home five runs and Estill drove in three runs. Barnett and Trista Rogers each drove home two runs in a 14-hit attack.
