HOISINGTON – Hoisington tuned up for the semifinals with a dominating 79-25 victory over Otis-Bison as 13 players scored points in Thursday’s Cardinal Winter Jam.
Supersub Braden Mooney made a miraculous recovery from a recent illness with a game-high 13 points. Everyone else contributed. The Cardinals outscored the Cougars 27-5 in the first period and stretched the lead to 34-5 with a 20-point streak. The Cardinals (7-1) play Ellsworth in Friday's semifinals.
The Cardinals converted a dozen 3-pointers. Drew Nicholson and Avery Brewer each scored 11 points.

OTIS-BISON 35, ELLSWORTH 18 -- Otis-Bison's Maddie Wiltse scored 12 first-half points to spark the Cougars past Ellsworth 35-18 in Thursday’s Cardinal Winter Jam. The Cougars led 20-6 at halftime and held Ellsworth to five field goals. Cristen Trapp added nine points.
The Cougars (10-0) play Victoria in Friday's 3 p.m. semifinal. Pratt plays Ellinwood in the second semifinal.

HOISINGTON – Hoisington iced a 39-25 victory with a 12-point run for a 39-25 victory over LaCrosse in Thursday’s Cardinal Winter Jam.
Hoisington (2-7) was sparked by Keeley Wolf with 14 points and Kelsi Dalton added eight points. Wolf followed Suzanna Schneider's field goal with a 3-pointer in the midst of a 12-point second-half run. The Cardinals dominated the boards and converted several Leopard turnovers into transition points.
Havyn Showalter led LaCrosse (3-8) with 13 second-half points. Hoisington (2-7) plays Ellsworth (3-6) at 11:30 a.m. Saturday for fifth place.
