SYLVAN GROVE — Underdog Larned kept rallying, but the Indians fell short in a hard-fought 6-4 loss to Sylvan in Monday's 3A Hays softball regional.

Sylvan's Taegan Walter's single drove home Mikayla Breneman for a 2-1 third-inning lead. But Larned's defense saved the day when catcher Martin tagged out Dharma Couse and relayed to Baylea Perez for a double play on Dawson O'Bannon.
