LARNED – Larned’s Jack Stelter delivered an RBI single and scored an insurance run on an error for a 10-8 victory over Smoky Valley in Friday’s Central Kansas League baseball nightcap. Smoky Valley won the opener 7-6.
SMOKY VALLEY 7, INDIANS 6 (G1) – Reliever Kade Blanchat preserved a wild 7-6 victory by striking out Ian Orth and Gavin Alvarez to end Larned’s seventh-inning rally. Dillan Smith scored on a bases-loaded walk and Aidan Smyth and Kaden Pontius scored on bass-loaded hit-by-pitches for a 7-6 score. But Blanchat retired the final two batters.
The Vikings led 6-0. Blancht’s triple scored Ty Miller and Nolan Dauer and Trayton Miller scored on a walk, Trevor Jones on a wild pitch, Blanchat on a steal and Grant Kearn on an error.
Stelter’s single scored Smyth to key a three-run fourth inning. Carlos Ibarra scored on an error and Smyth scored on a wild pitch for a 6-3 score.
Haven Lysell’s seventh-inning single scored Braxton House for a 7-3 lead.
INDIANS 10, SMOKY VALLEY 8 (G2) – The Indians (3-4, 3-4 CKL) rallied from a 5-0 deficit as Stelter drove home three runs and Logan Erway drove in two runs.
Malm and Trayton Miller hit RBI singles in a five-run first inning. The Vikings scored twice on a wild pitch and once on a hit batter.
Larned’s Erway hit a sacrifice fly. Smyth and Pontius scored on wild pitches and Smith scored on a walk in a four-run third inning. Smith tripled home Ian Orth and Steler’s triple scored Pontius in a four-run fourth inning. Smith scored on a wild pitch and Stelter scored on a groundout for an 8-6 lead.
Lysell’s double scored House and Karter Adam for an 8-8 tie after five innings. Stelter’s double scored Smyth and Stelter scored on an error for a 10-8 victory. Stelter earned the save by pitching the final 21/3 innings.
