Larned baseball swept
HILLSBORO – Hillsboro converted home-field advantage into a pair of walkoff baseball victories over the Larned Indians 4-3 and 8-7. The Trojans (7-3, 5-3 CKL) scored both winning runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning over Larned (1-7 CKL).
HILLSBORO 4, LARNED 3 (G1) – Larned’s Eian Sanders singled home Ian Orth for a 3-3 heading to the bottom of the seventh inning. But Hillsboro’s Jaxxson Hanschu scored the game-winner on a wild pitch with two out.
Sanders and Ibarra scored Larned’s two first two runs on Ty Smith’s hard-hit groundball that was misplayed.
HILLSBORO 8, LARNED 7 (G2) – Larned was snakebit again with 7-6 heading to the bottom of the seventh inning. Matt Potucek doubled home Dillon Boldt and Hunter Navrat with the tying and winning runs.
Larned’s Logan Erway and Sanders each drove home two runs. Brady Hope and Cade Colglazier each drove in one run.
