Larned wins one of four games

GARDEN CITY BLUES 6, LARNED 5 – The Garden City Blues rallied from a 5-0 deficit with six runs for a fifth-inning victory Sunday. Caleb Metzen scored on a game-winning wild pitch after he tripled home Austin Elam.

Larned led 5-0. Logan Erway singled home Ian Orth, Erway scored on a Carlos Ibarra sacrifice fly and Brady Hope scored on a third-inning wild pitch. Owen Reece scored on a groundball and Carson Shaver scored on an error for a 5-0 lead.

Larned contributed three errors as Carl Bors, Chase Batterton, Luis Varela and Chase McGraw scored fourth-inning runs.

Larned (3-7) plays the Great Bend Legion Braves Wednesday.

LARNED 15, GOVE COUNTY 5 – Logan Erway doubled and homered and drove home three runs to spark Larned’s Legion basebsall team past Gove County 15-5 Saturday night. Larned put the game away with a 12-run fifth inning.

Brady Hope drove home two runs. Ian Orth, Carlos Ibarra and Deacon Martin also drove home runs. Hope doubled and tripled. Ibarra tripled.

LIBERAL RATTLERS 8, LARNED 0  – Liberal pitcher Cade Thomas spun a 3-hit shutout with five strikeouts. Larned’s Carlos Ibarra, Hope and Tristan Regan singled.

Liberal’s Jhett Huffman drove home four runs. Liberal scored in five of six innings.

COLBY 8, LARNED 5 (FRIDAY) – Larned passed out seven walks, three hit batters and two errors that handed Colby an 8-5 victory. Colby broke a 5-5 tie with back-to-back bases loaded walks and a groundout that scored its eighth run.

Larned’s Brady Hope scored on a first-inning passed ball. Colby converted three walks and a hit batter for three runs. Larned responded for a 3-3 tie when Hope’s single scored Cade Colglazier and Owen Reece.

Colby regained the lead on a run-scoring error and Landen Vogler’s RBI single. Logan Erway’s fourth-inning triple scored Ian Orth and Hope for a 5-5 tie.
