Larned, Macksville win St. John track titles
ST. JOHN – Larned’s Jayme Hagerman swept the 100 meters (13.1), long jump (16-2) and triple jump (34-81/2) as the Indian girls scored 149 points to place first in Friday’s St. John Keith Blide Track Invitational.
Larned’s other winners were Kaylee Hagerman, 200 (28.03) and 400 (1:03.94); Teagen Walker, 100-meter hurdles (18.4), 300-meter hurdles (52.11); Cadee Upson, shot put (36-2); and the 400-meter relay (53.34) with Walker, Kaylee Hagerman, Alexa Beltz and Nydia Martinez.
“In addition to our jumpers, Cadee Upson has been enjoying a really good track season,” said Larned track coach Tad Remy. “Our boys 4-by-100 and boys 200 runners are showing some potential.”
MACKSVILLE BOYS – Macksville’s state champion Ryan Kuckelman, 400 (53.91); Alexis Barron, 110-meter hurdles (17.36); Lance Lickiss, high jump (5-8); and Jason Cleveland, long jump (19-71/2) won individual events. They joined forces for a first-place 1,600-meter relay (3:44.21). Macksville scored 192 points to place first.
Macksville’s other first-place winners were Yobanny Martinez-Villa, 3,200 (12:44.18) and Diego Esparza, triple jump (38-81/2).
