LARNED – Nickerson’s softball team swept past Larned 10-3 and 16-5 in a Central Kansas League doubleheader May 6.

PANTHERS 10, INDIANS 3 (G1) – Nickerson’s Kadence Newman delivered a 2-run single and 2-run double to spark the Panthers. Avery Hambrick drove home runs with a single and sacrifice fly.

Larned’s Kiana Meyer ripped a 2-run seventh-inning homer. Camryn Ettleman singled home Teagen Walker. Kenzie Reinert and Walker each had two hits.

PANTHERS 16, INDIANS 5 (G2) – Nickerson’s Kalyse Abernathy ripped a 3-run homer, a 2-run single and RBI double for six RBIs. Avery Hambrick hit a 2-run double and bases-loaded walk for three RBIs.

Larned’s Emma Thompson tripled home Walker, singled and scored a run on a wild pitch. Walker scored two runs with a single. Sophia Skelton scored on an error and wild pitch. Kenzie Reinert singled.

Indian softball beats Lyons

LYONS — Larned’s Kiana Meyer drove home three runs to spark the Indians past Lyons 12-10 in the nightcap of Tuesday’s Central Kansas League softball doubleheader. Lyons won the opener 15-0. 

INDIANS 12, LYONS 10 (G2) — Larned scored five runs in the fourth inning for an 11-5 lead and held off the Lipns’ late rally. 

Sophia Skelton and Meyer drove home runs in a 3-run first inning and Meyer scored on a passed ball. Emma Thompson singled home a run and Meyer forced home a run with a bases-loaded walk in a 3-run second inning. Skelton scored on an error.

Larned scored on four bases-loaded walks and a bases-loaded hit by pitch in a 5-run fourth inning. Ivy Hope scored on a wild pitch.

Lyons’ Lizbeth Valenzuela drove home four runs and Caitlyn Belote drove in three runs with two triples.
