HALSTEAD GIRLS 63, HOISINGTON 27 — Halstead's Delaina Schutte converted five 3-pointers for 15 points and Addison Wills and Bailey Bernal added 12 points as No. 2 ranked Dragons  swept past Hoisington 63-27 in Tuesday's Central Kansas League basketball game.

Marley Bittel led the Cardinals with 11 points and a trio of 3-pointers. The Cardinals (6-14) play at Holcomb (15-5) Thursday in the 3A Scott City basketball substate.

Halstead disrupted Hoisington with pressure defense.

"They were aggressive on their press," said Hoisington coach Trina Lutters. "Our ballhandlers were off balance. Halstead is quick and run the floor well. They see the floor and dish it off for 3-pointers."

Pawnee Heights (1-20) was sparked by Clayton Hammeke with 19 points and Logan Enabit added five points.

CENTRAL CHRISTIAN 58, OTIS-BISON 49 — Hutchinson Central Christian gradually pulled away for a hard-fought 58-49 victory over Otis-Bison in the 1A Dighton basketball substate. The Cougars (11-10) play Dighton (17-3) in the Match 3 semifinals.

Jake Hoopingarner paced the Cougars with 16 points with four 3-pointers and Louis McVey added 10 points and two 3-pointers. The Cougars converted seven 3-pointers.

Central Christian's Cal Barnett scored 19 points and Brody Froese added 12 points.

Macksville's Diego Esparza (15) and Nolan Adams (10) scored in double figures. Adams grabbed 10 rebounds. Esparza, Adams, Hector Gomez and Grippin each dished out three assists.

St. John's Braxon Alpers scored 12 points. Point guard Quade Smith played superbly with an 11-point game and solid ballhandling with his injured right wrist heavily bandaged.

Meade's high-flying Samuel Lynn scored 21 points 

Meade (14-7) plays South Central (17-2) a March 3 substate semifinal. St. John ends with a 12-9 record.

INGALLS 47, STAFFORD 39 — Ingalls' Lane Lightner scored 15 points and Logan Smith added 12 points for a 47-39 victory over Stafford in Tuesday's Greensburg 1A Div. 2 basketball substate. 

Ingalls converted 8 of 20 shots from 3-point range. No. 1 ranked Cunningham (20-0) faces Ingalls (8-14) in a March 3 semifinal.

Ingalls coach Nathan Lowther earned a head-to-head victory over his alma mater, which was led by Nathan's younger brother Samuel Lowther, who led the Trojans with 19 points. Stafford's Jacob Simmons scored 10 points. Stafford scored 21 points off turnovers and outscored the Bulldogs 24-12 in the paint.
