MCPHERSON 2, GREAT BEND 1 — McPherson edged past the Great Bend Panthers 2-1 in Thursday's non-league soccer game. McPherson's Cody Achilles scored on a Logan Ediger assist (28:04) and Ediger converted at the 3:26 mark for a 2-0 lead. Mario Arias fed Alex Galindo for a Panther goal at the 36:16 mark in the second half.

Panther goalie Edwin Chavez recorded two saves. The Panthers had seven shots on goals and goalie Kelvin Peterson recorded six goals. 

LIBERAL 4, GREAT BEND 3 (Monday) — The Great Bend Panthers were 10 minutes away from a 4-4 Western Athletic Conference soccer record. But Liberal scored two goals in the final minutes to steal a hard-fought 4-3 victory.

Panthers Carlos Soto, Alex Galindo and Gustavo Alvarado scored goals for a 3-1 lead at the 35:21 mark in the second half.

Liberal's Alfredo Lopez scored two goals, including the game-winner with 3:12 left in regulation, A.J. Ramirez contributed two assists and a goal (18:10) in the first half. Angel Munoz scored the fourth goal with nine minutes left in regulation.
