ELLINWOOD – Lyons spoiled Ellinwood's belated Winter Homecoming with 15 points and six clutch free throws for a hard-fought 53-50 non-league basketball victory Friday. Lyons (10-2) converted eight free throws in the fourth quarter.

Ellinwood (9-4) was sparked by Britton Dutton with 19 points, who converted a 3-pointer to draw the Eagles within 53-50. Eagle Tyler Stuhlsatz missed the final tying 3-point attempt. David Hammeke was superb with 13 points and 15 rebounds.

ELLINWOOD – Lyons; Kristina Head converted the go-ahead basket and Janessa Jaime followed with a basket as the Lions outscored Ellinwood 42-37 in Friday's non-league basketball game. Liberty Belote scored a basket and Head added two free throws for the clinching points.

Ellinwood (8-5) was paced by Mya Maxwell with 15 points and Allison McReynolds added eight points. Head led Lyons (7-5) with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Janessa Jaime added nine points.
