Makenzie Premer wins hurdles

TOPEKA – Great Bend’s Makenzie Premer continues to shine with a first-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles (48.24) at Friday’s Topeka Seaman Track Invitational.

The Panthers placed runner-up in the 1,600-meter relay (4:11.15) with Eliana Beckham, Premer, Sadie Spray and Kara Feist.

Third-place finishers were Spray, high jump, 5-2; 300-meter hurdles, 48.38; Kyndall Blessing, javelin, 119-7; and the 3,200-meter relay (10:18.08) with Beckham, Sienna Smith, Premer and Addy Nicholson.

The Panther girls (69) finished second behind 6A Olathe North (94).

Mathew Moeder was runner-up in the javelin (168-2). Kaiden Esfeld placed third in the 1,600 (4:25.75) and fourth in the 3,200 (9:38.63).
