HESSTON — Larned reliever Reese Morgan earned the save for his brother Caden Morgan as the Indians edged Hesston 5-4 in game two of Friday’s baseball doubleheader. Hesston (3-3, 2-2 CKL) won 11-6 in the Central Kansas League opener.

LARNED 5, HESSTON 4 (G2) – Reece Morgan recorded five outs to preserve a 5-4 victory. Caden Morgan singled home Carson Shaver. Reese Morgan singled home Brady Hope to ignite a 3-run fourth inning. Caden Morgan and Ty Smith scored on Cade Colglazier’s single for a 4-1 lead.

Larned’s Mason Miller singled in Tristan Regan for the eventual game-winning run.

Hesston’s Keagan Shelite delivered an RBI. Hesston runs scored on an error, a hit batter and wild pitch.

HESSTON 11, LARNED 6 (G1) – Larned (2-4, 1-3 CKL) trailed 11-2 and scored six runs, but it wasn’t enough. Regan drove home two runs and scored a run. Shaver, Smith, Caden Morgan, Brady Hope and Colglazier scored runs.

Hesston’s Aedan Halloran drove in three runs. Whit Rhodes drove home two runs.
