MEADE – Macksville’s Mayce Russell captured the javelin (117-3) and the Mustangs finished runner-up in five events at the Meade Track Invitational.
Runner-up finishes were earned by Lance Lickiss, high jump (5-6); Guadalupe Galan, shot put (32-71/2); and a trio of relays – 400-meter relay (46.96) with Hector Gomez, Ryan Kuckelman, Diego Esparza, Orion Guevara; the 1,600-meter relay (3:46.65) with Kuckelman, Esparza, Lickiss, Guevara; and the 3,200-meter relay (9:44.3) with Alexis Barron, James Granger, Jesse Nava and Lickiss.
Macksville’s boys finished fifth with 50 points. The Mustang girls scored 41 points and finished sixth.
