RUSSELL — Central Plains' Brynna Hammeke scored 27 points and drilled four 3-pointers to spark a 79-31 rout over Plainville in Saturday's third-place game at the Amos Morris Basketball Classic. 

Lexi Oeser (19) and Jennah Jeffrey (17) also scored in double figures as the No. 1 state-ranked Oilers converted nine 3-pointers. Kassidy Nixon played a spectacular floor game with 10 rebounds, nine assists and six steals. The Oilers forced 28 Plainville turnovers.

Oiler coach Pat Stiles owns a  204-5 record and the Oilers have swept six consecutive state basketball championships. The Oiler seniors (81-1) have lost one game in their high school basketball careers.
