CLAFLIN – The Central Plains Oilers shut out Ness City 50-0 in Friday’s Eight-Man I playoffs to earn their school-record eighth consecutive shutout.  Devin Ryan and Myles Menges intercepted passes and Lawson Oeser recovered a fumble. The Eagles gained eight yards on 19 offensive plays.

Oiler back Lawson Oeser scored three touchdowns to spark the victory. Myles Menges scored on a 57-yard interception return, completed a 48-yard touchdown pass to Jerred Bieberle and added a 1-yard score. Alex Hickel scored on a 33-yard run.

The Oilers beat Ness City 30-14 in their first meeting. Central Plains (10-0) plays at Hoxie (9-1) in the quarterfinals.
