Oilers' Holmes signs with Fort Hays

HAYS – Central Plains offensive/defensive lineman Tyler Holmes has signed a letter of intent to play football at Fort Hays State University 

Holmes competed on the Central Plains’ 2018 Eight-Man 1 Division 1 state championship team. He played for a Eight-Man Div. 2 playoff qualifier which lost 36-34 to Caldwell in the second round.   

Holmes was nominated for the Kansas Shrine Bowl and earned a spot in the 8-Man All-Star Football Game.

The Topeka Capital Journal named Holmes an All-Class Div. 2 all-state lineman.  Sports in Kansas named Holmes on the All-Senior Div. 2 all-state list. He earned honorable mention all-state honors from the Wichita Eagle and honorable mention for Sports in Kansas Top 100 seniors.

Holmes earned first team All-Central Prairie League and District 5 offensive and defensive line honors.
