COLBY — Central Plains Oiler Cole Lamatsch captured the Colby 1A regional titles in the 800 (2:06.27) and 1,600 (4:53.48) in Friday's track meet. 

The top four finishers qualify for the 1A state meet May 27-28 at Wichita State.

The La Crosse boys finished runner-up (691/2) behind Quinter (77) keyed double qualifiers Colby Stull, 100 (11.59) and 200 (24.15) and Gage Burk, high jump (6-2) and long jump (19-9). 

Stull and Burk also competed on the state-qualifying 400-meter and 1,600-meter relays. The Leopards also qualified in the 3,200-meter relay.

GIRLS DIVISION — Central Plains Oiler Lauren Oeser qualified for state in the javelin (117-5). Marilyn Soeken placed fourth in the 400 (1:04.44).

Otis-Bison's Destiny Mitchell qualified in the 3,200 meters (13:25.56.)

The La Crosse girls were paced by double qualifier Brennen Steinert with a runner-up 100-meter hurdles (15.49) and a first-place 300-meter hurdles (49.25).
