CENTRAL PLAINS 56, OTIS-BISON 14 

CLAFLIN — The revenge tour for Central Plains is underway.

Quarterback Brodie Crites threw for two touchdowns and rushed for a third score and Paxton Dody and Joel Schreiber each scored two touchdowns as the Oilers dominated Ness City 56-14 in 8-man football Friday night. Ness City beat the Oilers 26-8 last year.

Paxton Dody caught 9and 14-yard touchdown passes. Schreiber scored on 5- and 16-yard runs. Blaine Hickel and Richard Stroud added rushing touchdowns.

The Oilers dominated the line of scrimmage offensively keyed by center Connor Freis, guards Aiden Hekele and Landon Daniels and tight ends Paxton  Dody and Hunter Klima. Davin Davison led the defense with seven tackles and seven assists. Paxton Dody contributed five tackles, six assists. Hickel had four stops and seven assists.

BY JIM MISUNAS jmisunas@gbtribune.com PRATT — After Daxton Minton spun a 6-0 shutout, Great Bend completed a hard-fought 7-5 victory to sweep Pratt in Friday's non-league baseball doubleheader. Koehn Ribordy earned a save in game two and led the offense for the Panthers (6-1) with seven runs batted home in the twin bill. PANTHERS 6, PRATT 0 (G1) — Minton (1-0) fashioned a 2-hitter in a masterful 78-pitch outing. Third baseman Trenton Kern turned a double-play on Madden Wilson's fifth-inning groundball. Carson Umphres opened the game with a leadoff homer. Two Pratt errors and a walk led to a 3-run third inning. Koehn Ribordy singled home Kern and Minton. Ribordy scored on Owen Kaiser's single for a 4-0 lead. Ribordy singled home Minton in the fifth inning. Ribordy scored on a seventh-inning wild pitch. PANTHERS 7, PRATT 5 (G2) — Ribordy stayed red hot with two singles and four runs batted home. Ribordy recorded seven outs to earn a save after Slade Mohr pitched 42/3 innings. Pratt led 4-1 after two innings. Owen Schmidt scored on Cresten Pore's first-inning single. Madden Wilson singled in Kameron Cox. Gatlin scored on Craft's single. Ethan Koger scored on a groundball for a 4-1 lead. Mohr scored on Jaxon Wondra's groundball in a 4-run third inning. Umphres scored on a passed ball. Ian Premer and Minton scored on Ribordy's single for a 5-4 lead. Premer scored on Ribordy's fifth-inning groundout. Kern scored onn Kaiser's single for a 7-4 lead.
