Oklahoma Wesleyan, Sterling reach winners bracket

HAYS — No. 1 seed Oklahoma Wesleyan rolled past Friends 14-7 to advance into Saturday’s winner’s bracket finals against defending KCAC champion Sterling College. The winner qualifies for the 2017 NAIA World Series May 26-June 2 at Lewiston, Idaho. 

OKLAHOMA WESLEYAN 14, FRIENDS 7 – Trevor Achenbach drove in five runs with five hits to spark Oklahoma Wesleyan. Friends catcher John Gardner drilled three homers for six RBIs.

TABOR 16, MCPHERSON 2 — Tabor’s Colton Flax drove in three runs and Raulier Martinez and John Izquierdo each drove in two runs in a 20-hit attack Friday.

STERLING 8, FRIENDS 6 — Sterling’s Eric Skogseth and Javoni Thomas each dubld home two runs in a six-run first inning. Nic Domitrovich and Corey davis each delivered RBI singles.
