Panther girls sweep fifth straight title

SALINA – The Great Bend girls swept the 1,600-meter relay (4:17.58) and the 3,200-meter relay (10:18.73) with season-best times. The Panther girls placed first to win their fifth consecutive track meet with 185 points.

"We posted 19 PRs today and the girls made it five in a row," said Great Bend coach Lyles Lashley.

Eliana Beckham, Sadie Spray, Emma Loomis and Daizy Gomez ran a season-best time in the 1,600 relay. Beckham, Olivia Rugan, Hannah Loomis, and Emma Loomis competed in the 3,200 relay.

Panther Makenzie Premer won the 300-meter hurdles (48.02) with a season-best time. Emilia Diaz won the 3,200 (12:19.37) and placed runner-up in the 1,600 (5:32.44) with a season-best time.

Finishing runner-up were Premer, 100-meter hurdles (16.49) and Taryn Warren, shot put (35-4).

GREAT BEND BOYS Panther Oliver Dominguez continues to shine with personal-best efforts with a first in the triple jump (43-6), a second in the 400 (51.97) and an eighth in the 200 (23.37).

Kaiden Esfeld posted his best time while winning the 800 meters (1:59.93) along with a first-place in the 1,600 (4:31.14).

The Panthers ran a season-best time with a runner-up finish in the 1,600-meter relay (3:38.58) with Madison Regehr, Braylon Council, Jaime Arellanes and Esfeld.
