GREAT BEND 8, SALINA CENTRAL 1 — Great Bend's girls soccer team rallied from a pair of 1-goal losses with a dominating 8-1 victory over Salina Central Friday. Great Bend (3-2) plays at Liberal Tuesday. 

TOPEKA WEST 2, PANTHERS 1 — Topeka West's girls scored two goals in the first 10 minutes and edged Great Bend 2-1 in Wednesday's rare varsity soccer match.

Great Bend's Xali Arias scored the Panthers' goal in the 80th minute.

PANTHER JV 8, TOPEKA WEST 0 — Great Bend outscored Topeka West 8-0 in the junior varsity game.

Joanna Sanchez, Destany Lopez and Delailia Santana each scored a pair of goals. Yesenia Pulido and Destany Lopez also scored goals.

"The JV has plenty of scorers," said Panther coach Noel Rodriguez. "That's coach 'Kino's' first JV shutout."

BUHLER 2, PANTHERS 1 (Monday) Buhler's Zoey Dick scored on Lakin Yoder's assist to edge Great Bend 2-1 in double overtime. Buhler (2-0-1) has played two double overtime games. 

Panther Xali Arias scored for a 1-0 lead on Paige's assist. Buhler's Madi McCool tied the score on a penalty kick for a Panther handball in the penalty box.

Buhler scored the game-winner on a goal after a corner kick.

"It was a very good game," said Great Bend coach Noel Rodriguez. "I was very proud of how our girls played. We need to make sure we play solid for the full 80 minutes."
