Great Bend's boys edged Liberal 37-36 in Thursday's Western Athletic Conference dual wrestling match at the Fieldhouse thanks to the Redskins' 1-point unsportsmanlike team penalty.
Liberal would've won a team tiebreaker with five pins while Great Bend had three pins. Each team earned seven wins.
Panthers earning pins were Triston Tomlinson (157), Trenton Kern (215) and Josue Bustamante (285). Kern celebrated his 100th high school wrestling victory.
Panther seniors Trevin Maciel (144), Tomlinson, Cruz Folk-Robinson (175), Kern and Ryder Morris (285) were honored in their final home match of their high school careers.
Great Bend's Abel Spencer (120), Kawika Martinez (132), Cal Schartz (138) and Aiden Stacey (165) won on decisions.
PANTHER GIRLS 42, LIBERAL 35 — Panthers Sophia Bauer (100), Camdyn Post (110), Brooklynn Kelly (125) and Rydlie Swanson (170) earned wins on pins against Liberal.
