MACKSVILLE — Macksville's Ryan Kuckelman scored 24 points with 14 rebounds as the Mustangs roared past Cunningham 70-41 in Monday's 1A St. John basketball regional.
Macksville's Rogelio Ibarra scored 17 points with five 3-pointers and three steals. Harley Blaske contributed seven assists.
"We started the game really well defensively, and that got us going," said Macksville coach Jeff Kuckelman. "We started attacking inside after early outside shots weren't falling and our shooting improved. We did a good job holding Cunningham to one shot and converted on the offensive end. It was a nice way to start the postseason."
