ELLSWORTH – Hoisington’s all-state tailback-linebacker Wyatt Pedigo scored five touchdowns, two on interception returns as the Cardinals roared past Ellsworth 49-7 in Friday’s 2A District 8 football game.

Pedigo scored on 57- and 74-yard interception returns, on 1- and 29-yard runs and on a 15-yard pass from quarterback Mason Haxton. Pedigo, who’s rushed for 844 yards, contributed six tackles and seven assists. Hoisington (5-0, 2-0) earned three interceptions for 21 takeaways in five games.

Cardinals Cole Steinert and Joshua Ball added touchdown runs. Moragn Kelley scored on a 2-yard run for Ellsworth (4-1, 1-1).
