ST. JOHN 50, MOUNDRIDGE 27
INMAN — All-stater Dean Wade scored 21 poins to lead No. 1 ranked St. John rolled past Moundridge 50-27 in Class 2A Inman basketball substate.
St. John (22-0)  outscored the Wildcats in all four quarters to steadily build its lead. Jorge Calleros scored 10 points. Cole Kinnamon dished out three assist in the low-possession game.
Wade accounted for 17 first-half points with six baskets and five free throws and a slam dunk.  The Tigers adjusted after halftime as Wade contributed just two of 15 third-quarter points. Jorge Calleros and Jacob Milton each scored four points.
Moundridge (14-8) was led by Alejandro Jimenez with 12 points, but he committed eight turnovers.

PRATT — Macksville’s girls made an improbable run to the substate championship for the second straight year with a 59-53 victory over fairfield in the Class 1A basketball substate. The Mustangs (8-13) have won six of seven games. They will face LaCrosse (16-5) in Saturday’s championship game.
Raelee Ibarra led Fairfield (10-11) with 19 points.

FOWLER — No. 1 ranked Moscow rolled past the Pawnee Heights girls  61-12 in the Class 1A-Div. 2 basketball substate semifinals. The Tigers (3-17) were paced by Bailey Seltmann with six points.
Moscow (19-2) was led by Kelsi Mueller with 18 points and Morgan Robson added 10 points.

MAIZE — Top-seeded Maize South sped to a 17-0 lead and ran past the Great Bend Panthers 72-36 in the Class 5A Maize basketball substate. The Mavericks led 17-0 after one quarter and 40-14 at halftime.
Great Bend (2-19) was paced by Jacob Murray with eight points and a pair of 3-pointers. Quinton Elliott added six points. Great bend committed 16 turnovers. The Panthers ended the season on a 10-game losing streak.
Paul Reichenberger led Maize South (19-2) with 19 points and Cole Koster added 16 points. The Mavericks converted 32 field goals compared to 12 of 36 field goals by the Panthers.

PRATT -- Macksville High’s boys avenged a 23-point loss to top-seeded Otis-Bison with a 49-45 upset to advance to the finals of the Class 1A Skyline Div. 1 basketball substate. The Cougars beat the Mustangs 50-27 Feb. 17.
Macksville (8-14) will play Skyline High School (11-10) in Saturday’s finals at Pratt. The Mustangs qualified for the Class 1A state tournament last year.

HUGOTON 55, LARNED 24
LARNED -- No. 1 ranked Hugoton rolled past Larned’s girls 55-24 to advance to the finals of the Class 4A DIv. 2 basketball substate. Hugoton (18-2) will meet Pratt (16-5) for a state berth.
The Eagles led 22-9 after one quarter. The Eagles put together a 31-8 scoring burst for a 41-15 halftime lead. Katy Heger scored 17 points and Dallie Hoskinson added 12 points.
Haley Skelton led Larned (4-17) with seven points and Ally Aldrich added five points. The Indians committed 22 turnovers.

Ellinwood (21-1) will meet defending Class 2A state champion Central Plains (21-1) for a state berth. The Eagles beat the Oilers 66-58 Feb. 24.
Ellinwood led 50-46 after three quarters before outscoring Canton-Galva 31-17 in the fourth quarter. Rachel Doll scored 22 points and Blake Wilt added 11 points.

Rolfs converted five 3-pointers. Reagan Phelan scored 14 points and dished out several assists. Cassidy Crites (14) and Breanna Schartz (10) scored in double figures. The Oilers scored 17 straight points in the first half.
