ST. JOHN — The Macksville High School boys’ basketball team had three players score in double digits to lead it over Central Plains at the St. John Lions Club Mid-Winter Classic on Thursday.
Jorge Baray, Adolfo Ibarra and Adam Oak each finished with 12 points. Tanner Tranbarger added nine points.
The Oilers were led by Layne Bieberle and Bryce Steiner, who each scored 14 points.

HOISINGTON — Trevor Keller put in a trio of 3-pointers to finish with 15 points as the Otis-Bison Cougars beat Russell at the Hoisington Winter Jam.
Brandon Pechanec added 14 points for Otis-Bison, which is ranked No. 5 in Class 1A Division-II in the latest Kansas Basketball Coaches Association poll.
Russell was led by Jordan Hecker, who finished with 11 points.
