CLAFLIN — The Central Plains High School girls’ basketball team went undefeated in the regular season, earning the top seed of the Greensburg Class 2A Sub-State Tournament.
As the No. 1 seed, the Lady Oilers hosted Kinsley on Monday night.
Central Plains had an 11-point lead after eight minutes, and held a dominating 30-6 lead at halftime to cruise to the semifinal round.
Taylor Rolfs scored a team-leading 21 points, including 17 in the first half.
Rolfs led nine girls who scored.
Reagan Phelan and Kendi Maxwell tied as the Lady Oilers’ No. 2 scorer with eight points each.
St. John-Hudson 42, Kiowa County 34
ST. JOHN — St. John-Hudson is the No. 4 seed of the Greensburg 2A Sub-State Tournament, hosing No. 5-seeded Kiowa County.
The Lady Tigers led 28-23 heading into the final quarter, and made 6 of 6 free throws to close out the game with the lead, advancing to a semifinal game against Central Plains at Greensburg on Thursday.
Teresa Christie led St. John with 19 points, scoring 15 in second half.
Alexis Witt added 10 points.
