Bowman named as designated hitter for all-star game

Jace Bowman, a recent graduate of Great Bend High School, has been selected as a designated hitter for the Kansas Association of Baseball Coaches all-star game.
Bowman, who was named as a first-team Class 5A second baseman by the KABC, will assume the DH duties for the Red team.
The Red will be playing the White squad at 1:36 p.m. on Wednesday during the first of two all-star games at Tointon Stadium in Manhattan. The game will be televised on Cox Channel 22.
The second game will pit the Purple vs. the Black, which starts at 4:30.
Participants for the all-star game were made, based on  KABC selections as all-state players.
Bowman was the leading hitter for GBHS during the recently completed 2012 season, batting .480. He also led the team in at-bats (75), hits (36). singles (24), home runs (2) and runs batted in (22).
