PRATT — Pratt’s softball team scored two runs to rally for an 8-7 victory over Hoisington and completed the Central Kansas League sweep with a 12-7 victory. The Cardinals (10-10) will play Larned (10-10) in Monday’s 4A Hoisington softball regional.
PRATT 9, HOISINGTON 8 (G1) — Kami Theis singled home Brianna Cruz and Breanna Bosley scored on an error as Pratt rallied for a last-inning victory. Cruz doubled and Bosley and Jenna Fincham walked to load the bases off Cardinal pitcher Taylor Boxberger. Theis, Fincham and Brooklyn Humble drove in two runs.
Cardinal Trinity Dolezel singled in two runs in the third inning. Brooke Steinert scored on an error. Steinert scored on a bases-loaded walk and Brooke Bachar delivered an RBI single. Boxberger and Brooke Reif drove home Cardinal runs for an 8-7 lead heading to Pratt’s final at-bat.
PRATT 12, HOISINGTON 7 (G2) — Pratt’s Cruz homered and drove home three runs and Theis drove home three runs for an 11-2 lead.
Steinert and Riley Brungardt drove in Cardinal runs in the second inning. Dolezal hit a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning. Bailee Bachar and Brooke Bachar delivered back-to-back RBI sixth-inning hits. Boxberger added a seventh-inning RBI and Keeley Wolf scored on an error.
