HOISINGTON — Passion Martinez led Hoisington’s hitting and pitcher Karisa Schremmer and Delaney Smith dominated Nickerson in a 17-0 and 14-3 softball doubleheader sweep.
Hoisington improved to 9-3, 9-3 CKL and Nickerson drops to 0-8, 0-8 CKL.
In the opener, Schremmer and Sydney Boxberger combined for a two-hit shutout. Passion Martinez drove in four runs with two hits. Karisa Schremmer drove in three runs with two hits. Marisa Jonas drove in three runs.
The Cardinals scored 12 runs in the first inning. Martinez, Kaycee Steiner and Reagan Phelan delivered two-run hits. Marisa Jones drilled a two-run homer to bring home Steiner for a 2-0 lead. Kendi Maxwell walked and Phelan singled and they came home on Martinez’ double for a 4-0 lead. Tyann Schremmer forced home Martinez on a bases-loaded walk. Karisa Schremmer’s single drove home Shae Bitter for a 6-0 lead. Steiner’s two-run single drove in Tyann Schremmer and Karisa Schemmer for an 8-0 lead.  Maxwell’s bass-loaded walk made it 9-0. Phelan doubled home Jonas and Maxwell for an 11-0 lead. Martinez singled home Phelan for a 12-0 lead.
HHS 14, NHS 3 — Kendi Maxwell started a 14-run game with a two-run double and she scored on Martinez’ single for a 3-0 lead. Maxwell drove in three runs and Passion Martinez drove in three runs with two hits. Karisa Schremmer drove in two hits. Kaycee Steiner had four hits and Nickerson’s Leslie Ortiz had two hits.
