ELLSWORTH — The Hoisington High School wrestling team took first place at the Ellsworth tournament on Saturday by more than 60 points.
The Cardinals, who are ranked No. 8 in Class 3-1A in the latest Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association poll released on Dec. 13, finished with 179.5 points, beating second-place Southeast of Saline, which scored 119 points.
Brandon Ball (120-pound weight class), Chance Demel (145), Hagen Hanzlick (170), Cayton Janousek (195) and Cody Batt (220) each took first place in their respectve weight classes to lead Hoisington.
Avery Urban (182) and Brady Moore (285) finished in second place in their weight classes.
