The unbeaten No. 1 ranked Class 2A Central Plains girls rolled past Ness City 70-42 in the Hilltop Hoops Classic to tune up for Thursday’s semifinal against St. John.
Scoring in double figures for Central Plains were Janae Ryan (14), Reagan Phelan (12), Taylor Rolfs (11) and Kylee Kasselman (10). The Oilers outsored Ness City 38-19 in the second half.
Jaycie Richardson paced Ness City with 13 points an Alexis Clarke added 12 points.

RUSSELL — Sam Ptacek and Megan Boxberger each scored 10 points and Russell’s girls rolled past Hoisington 52-42 in a non-league basketball game Tuesday. The Broncos (7-6) scored 36 second-half points. They ended the third quarter on a 15-2 run and made 13 free throws in the fourth quarter.
Rylie Koester paced Hoisington with 18 points and Emma Harmon added 13 points.
The Cardinals (4-9) were behind 16-9 at halftime.

Delaney Beckwith paced the Eagles with 18 points and Rachel Doll added 11 points. The Eagles made 21 of 48 field goals. Olivia Baus led LaCrosse with 17 points.
No. 2 ranked Class 2A Ellinwood (12-0, 3-0 CPL) stayed unbeaten in the Central Prairie League. LaCrosse dropped to 11-2 overall and 2-1 in league.
