ELLINWOOD—Ellinwood girls track tallied 164 points and ran away with Thursday’s CPL championship. The Eagle girls beat runner up Central Plains by a 100-point margin after the nine-team event.

Meanwhile Ellinwood boys placed fourth in their meet with 64 points while Ness City won the championship with 98.

In the girls meet, Ellinwood totaled four individual gold medals and two in the relays. McKenna Rugan was the top finisher in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:02.74. In long distance running, Abbie Reichuber timed in at 12:42.90 to win the 3200 meter race. Emma Ricker won gold in the 100 meter hurdles at 17.41.

Bailey Baird, Ricker, Anna Fisher and Cailey Carmen took top honors in the 4x400 relay in 4:15.95 while Reichuber, Joanna Strecker, Cailey Carmen and Maddie Hayes won the 4x800 clocking in at 10:13.81.
In field events, Cassie Dimitt posted a throw of 33.02 ft. to win the shot put.

Other girls medal winners include Rugan who placed third in the 100 meter dash at 28.32. She also won bronze in the 200 meter dash at 28.03. Strecker finished second in the 800 meter run in 2:32.72. Strecker and Reichuber placed second and third respectively in the 1600 meter run in times of 5:49.44 and 5:50.70. Hayes was runner up in the 3200 with a time of 14:08.40. Fisher won silver in the 100 meter hurdles in 17.82. Ricker took third in the 300 meter hurdles timing in at 50.55.

In the 4x100 relay, Ricker, Rugan, Baird and Fisher placed third in 53.58.

From the field, Baird was the third finisher in the high jump at 4.04 ft. Hayes took silver in the pole vault at 6.06 ft. and placed second in the javelin with a throw of 116.05 ft.

In the boys division, Avery Pike, Destin Baker, Tate Fisher and Jordan Duvall won the 4x400 relay with a time of 1:04.05.

Duvall was runner up in the 100 meter dash in 11.92. Baker took silver in the 800 meter run at 2:10.83 while Morgan Feemster placed second in the 1600 meter in 4:52.90. Feemster was also runner up in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:53.46.

In the field, Fisher finished in second place in the high jump at 6 ft.
