MANHATTAN, KS— Matt Zecha will be taking his baseball playing career to the next level.

The former Great Bend Panther and Chief recently signed a letter of intent to play college baseball at Manhattan Christian College next spring.

Zecha had a solid senior campaign at GBHS hitting .374 with 19 RBI’s and 15 stolen bases while seeing action in the infield and outfield. Zecha also helped lead the Great Bend Legion Chiefs to their first AAA State Tournament appearance in more than ten years this past season.

“Matthew is a very talented player who can really hit,” said MCC head coach Jimmy McDonald. “We are looking for him to be a big part of this lineup next spring and believe he will be a big part of this program for years to come. The sky is the limit for Matthew once he gets developed in the weight room. We have big plans for him.”

MCC is a member of the eight team Midwest Christian College Conference (MCCC).
