EL DORADO — The Great Bend High School girls cross country team placed fourth at El Dorado on Saturday.
The girls were once again led by Rubi Torres, who finished in sixth place overall with a new school record time of 15 minutes, 16 seconds.
“The girls put together another outstanding team performance placing fourth,” Great Bend head coach Todd Kaiser said. “Rubi Torres placed sixth in a time of 15:16, breaking the school record once again by two seconds.
“We had eight girls who ran their season best times which is a good sign heading into the WAC, regional and state (meets).”
Hannah Wondra crossed the finish line next for the Lady Panthers with a time of 16:18, good enough for 28th place. Ali Heilman, Kaitlyn Tuey and Morgan Harwood finished as scoring runners for the Lady Panthers as well.
Great Bend’s boys, who finished in last place, were led by Chon Chavez, who took 14th place with a time of 16:53. Cristian Garcia, Kole Stiner, Ky Heeke and Kyle Bussen finished as scoring runners for the Panthers.
