The Great Bend Middle School 8th-grade football team dominated both sides of the football in a 31-0 win over Garden City’s Ken Henderson.
Great Bend featured five players who scored TDs –Sage Koelsch, 1-yard run; Devin Dilbeck 25-yard run; Joseph Moeder, 35 yard reception from Koelsch; Gavin Haberman 13-yard run and Carlos Batres, a 37-yard scoop and score.
“The offensive line did a tremendous job of creating running lanes and our defense set up the offense the entire game,” said head coach Jason Perry.
The defense had four takeaways with Roman Garza and Joseph Moeder intercepting passes. Great Bend (3-0) plays Liberal West Thursday. The 7th-grade game starts at 3:30 followed by the 8th-grade game at Memorial Stadium.
