GBMS runners finish at top of Hays Invite

HAYS— Great Bend seventh graders Taylor Lindberg and Aubrey Snapp placed as the top two runners at Thursday’s Hays Invitational. Linberg came in with a first place finish of 6:26.5 while Snapp was just two seconds off from Linberg with a second place time of 6:28.3. Jordan Stukey (6:37.7) placed fourth just two seconds behind Hays seventh grader Olivia Diane Rankin.

Other top 20 finishers for the seventh grade girls were MaKayla Satterfield (14th-7:04.3), Madison Huslig (16th-7:08.0) and Haleigh Ringo (20th-7:17.0).

In the seventh grade boys race Jaime Arellanes placed 13th in 5:57.3 while Riley Slater polled an 18th place finish at 6:03.3.

Turning to the eighth grade girls race McKenna Esfeld grabbed a fifth place slot in a time of 13:52.7. Ashley Anderson was tenth with a time of 14:05.5.

Jesus Sanchez won the eighth grade boys race at 15:00.03. Humberto Alonzo came in at fourth place in 15:43.5. Ryan Nicholson (15:54.7), Connor Griffith (15:54.3), Josh Tomlin (16:04.5) and Israel Franco (16:05.2) placed seventh through tenth respectively. Ray Khulman was another top 20 finisher placing 18th in 16:49.3.
